Cookies and trackers
Cookie policy
Last updated :
This site sets a small number of cookies. Three of them are essential for it to work; everything else waits for your agreement and does not fire without it. This page says which, what for, for how long, and how to change your mind in two clicks.
1Your choices, right now
If you came here to change your preferences, the button below reopens the settings panel with your current choices. You can accept everything, refuse everything, or allow one category only.
The same button is permanently available at the foot of every page of the site, under "Manage cookies". Withdrawing your agreement is as easy as giving it, and refusing has no effect whatsoever on your ability to browse, order or be delivered.
2What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a site saves in your browser and can read back on your next visit. It is what lets your basket still contain three tins of paint after you move to another page.
The word "cookie" is used here in the broad sense the law uses: it also covers neighbouring technologies serving the same end - invisible pixels, browser local storage, identifiers passed in a web address. What matters is not the technique but the fact that something is written to or read from your device.
In France, article 82 of the Data Protection Act requires your prior agreement for any tracker that is not strictly necessary to the service you asked for. That is the rule we apply.
3Strictly necessary cookies
These are set without asking you, because the law exempts them: without them there is no basket, no sign-in, and no protection against form fraud. They serve no audience measurement and no advertising. You can block them in your browser, but the site will then stop working properly.
| Name | Set by | Role | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
mylands-session |
This site | Identifies your session: your basket, your sign-in, the language shown. Holds no personal data in plain text, only a random reference. | 2 hours |
XSRF-TOKEN |
This site | Security. Stops another site submitting a form on your behalf without your knowledge. | 2 hours |
ml_consent |
This site | Records exactly the choice you made on this page. It is what stops us asking you again on every visit - including when you refused. | 182 days (about 6 months) |
4Audience measurement
Set only if you accept them. They tell us which pages are read, which colours hold attention and how people arrive at the site - enough to improve the shop rather than guess at it. We use Google Analytics 4.
| Name | Set by | Role | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 13 months | |
_ga_<identifier> | Maintains the measurement session state | 13 months |
In line with CNIL guidance, these trackers are capped at 13 months and are not silently renewed on each visit; the statistics derived from them are kept for 25 months at most.
Google processes this data in the United States. If you refuse this category, no browsing data is sent to it. See our privacy policy for the safeguards applying to transfers.
5Advertising and social media
Set only if you accept them. They measure whether an advertisement led to a visit or a purchase, and let us show you more relevant ads on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and the Google network. This is the most intrusive category on the page, and the most reasonable one to refuse.
| Name | Set by | Role | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta | Advertising identifier assigned by the Meta pixel | 3 months |
_fbc | Meta | Keeps the reference of the advertisement you clicked | 3 months |
_pin_unauth | Advertising identifier assigned by the Pinterest tag | 1 year | |
_derived_epik | Keeps the reference of the pin or advertisement you clicked | 1 year | |
_pinterest_ct_ua | Pinterest (pinterest.com) | Advertising measurement | 1 year |
awc | mylands.fr (for Awin) | Reference of the partner link you arrived through, so that site is paid if you order | 30 days |
_aw_m_131679, _aw_sn_131679, _aw_j_131679 | Awin | Attributes an order to the partner site that brought you here | Up to 30 days |
_gcl_au | Attributes a visit or purchase to a Google Ads advertisement | 3 months | |
IDE, test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Ad delivery and measurement | Up to 13 months |
The names and lifetimes above are those published by Google, Meta, Pinterest and Awin; those companies may change them without telling us. The rule we do guarantee does not change: nothing is set or sent until you have accepted this category.
That rule applies equally to what leaves our own servers. We send certain purchase events directly to Meta, bypassing your browser, to get a reliable measurement; those transmissions are subject to exactly the same agreement. If you refuse advertising, they do not happen. When they do, your email address and telephone number are never sent in plain text, but as an irreversible cryptographic hash.
6How your choice is collected and kept
On your first visit, a banner offers three options of equal visual weight: accept all, refuse all, or customise category by category. No button is emphasised over the others, no box is pre-ticked, and closing the banner or carrying on browsing does not count as acceptance.
Until you answer, audience-measurement and advertising trackers stay blocked.
Your decision - acceptance or refusal alike - is kept for 182 days, about 6 months, which matches the period the CNIL recommends. After that you are asked again. You are also asked again sooner if we materially change the trackers in use: agreement given for one list does not carry over to another.
You can reverse your choice at any time, in either direction, without giving a reason: the button at the top of this page, or "Manage cookies" at the foot of any page.
7What happens if you refuse
Nothing troublesome. The site behaves identically: you browse, compare colours, order and receive your delivery in exactly the same way. No feature is reserved for those who accept, and no banner will come back at you before the period set out above has elapsed.
The only difference is at our end: we see less clearly which pages work, and we measure our campaigns less well. You are perfectly entitled to make that choice, and a refusal is recorded just as carefully as an acceptance.
9Third-party content and links
Some pages may display content hosted elsewhere - a video, a map, a social media module. Such content may set its own trackers, governed by that publisher's policy rather than ours.
The same goes for sites we link to. Following a link takes you off this site, and this policy stops applying.
10Your rights and remedies
Data collected through trackers is personal data: the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and withdrawal of consent described in our privacy policy apply to it in full.
To exercise them, write to privacy@mylands.fr.
