Terms and conditions of sale
Last updated :
These terms and conditions of sale govern any purchase made on this site, whether placed by a consumer or by a professional account. They supplement the legal notice and the privacy policy, which they do not replace.
1Purpose and scope
These terms and conditions of sale ("Terms") apply to any order placed on this site with the seller identified below, whether by a consumer or by a professional buying for the purposes of their business. On anything to do with a purchase, they prevail over the legal notice.
Placing an order on this site means accepting these Terms in full, in the version in force on the date of the order. The seller may amend them at any time; only the version displayed at the time of the order applies to it.

3Products and prices
The products offered for sale are those described on the site on the day it is browsed, subject to availability. Photographs and colour representations are illustrative only and carry no contractual value: see the "How colours appear" section of our legal notice, which applies in full to these Terms.
Prices are shown in euros, inclusive of tax, exclusive of delivery. Applicable delivery charges are shown before you finally confirm your order and summarised on the payment page. The seller may change prices at any time; the price applicable to an order is the one shown when it is placed.
A professional account with its own price list is charged the prices on that list, as shown in its "Professionals" area.
4Ordering
Ordering runs through several steps: building the basket, choosing a delivery method, entering or selecting billing and delivery addresses, choosing a payment method, then checking and finally confirming the order summary. Confirming that last step - by payment, or by a professional account's commitment to pay on account terms - is irrevocable acceptance of the order and of these Terms.
An order confirmation is shown on screen once payment completes, giving the order number, item details and total amount.
The seller reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order that looks abnormal, that comes from a customer with an outstanding dispute over payment for an earlier order, or where the product ordered is unavailable - the customer is told and, where relevant, refunded in full.
5Payment
Payment is made online, at the time of ordering, by card through our secure payment provider. The seller never holds card details itself; they are processed directly by that provider.
A professional account with an approved credit line may, for that category of order only, pay on the terms agreed with the seller rather than at the time of ordering; the terms (limit, payment period) appear in its "Professionals" area and can be settled by card from that area at any time, including before the due date.
An order is only treated as finally placed once payment is received, or, for a professional account paying on account, once the seller has approved the credit against its limit.
6Delivery
Products are delivered to the address given when ordering, or handed over at a pickup point where that delivery method is offered and chosen. Delivery times shown when ordering are indicative; a reasonable overrun does not give rise to compensation, except where the law provides otherwise for a consumer.
Risk in the products passes on delivery - that is, on physical handover of the products to the customer or to a third party named by them other than the carrier, under article L.216-4 of the French Consumer Code.
It is for the customer to check parcels on receipt and to report to the carrier, and to the seller, any damage or shortfall, in the way and within the time given on the delivery note.
7Right of withdrawal
Under articles L.221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, a consumer has 14 days from receiving the products to exercise their right of withdrawal, without needing to give a reason or pay a penalty, other than return shipping costs where applicable.
To exercise this right, the customer notifies their decision by an unambiguous statement, for example using the form below, sent to privacy@mylands.fr or by post to the seller's address given above:
Model withdrawal form — complete and return only if you wish to withdraw:
I hereby give notice of withdrawal from the contract for order no. [order number], ordered on [date] and received on [date].
Customer name:
Customer address:
Signature (if notified on paper):
Date:
Products must be returned in their original condition, complete, unused and in their original packaging as far as possible, within 14 days of communicating the decision to withdraw. Return costs remain the customer's responsibility, unless stated otherwise at the time of ordering. A reduction in the value of the product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and proper functioning may be deducted from the refund.
A refund is made no later than 14 days after the seller has been told of the decision to withdraw, or after the returned products are received if that is later, using the same payment method as the order, unless the customer expressly agrees to another method.
Exceptions: under article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods unsealed by the customer after delivery that cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene or health protection, nor to goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised, where those descriptions apply to the product concerned.
This right belongs only to a consumer within the meaning of the French Consumer Code; orders placed by a professional account for the purposes of its business are not automatically covered by it.
'Easy returns' commercial undertaking: independently of the statutory right of withdrawal above, and without restricting it, the seller takes back, for 30 days from receipt of the order, any product that is unused, complete and in its original packaging — including tins of paint tinted to order, provided they have not been opened — and refunds its price to the payment method used for the order, within 14 days of receiving and checking the return. The customer requests the return beforehand from the order's page in their customer account ('Request a return') or, for an order placed without an account, through the site's contact form or at privacy@mylands.fr, quoting the order number; return shipping costs remain the customer's responsibility. A tin of paint that has been opened or started is not taken back under this undertaking. The practical details are on the Delivery & returns page. This commercial undertaking is in addition to the right of withdrawal and the statutory guarantees set out below.
8Statutory guarantees
Every product sold carries the following statutory guarantees, independently of any commercial guarantee that may also apply:
Statutory guarantee of conformity
Under articles L.217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, the seller must deliver goods that conform to the contract and answers for any lack of conformity existing on delivery that appears within two years of it. The customer may choose between repair and replacement, subject to the cost conditions in article L.217-9 of that code, and has two years to act. This guarantee applies independently of any commercial guarantee given on a product.
Statutory guarantee against hidden defects
Under articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code, the seller answers for hidden defects in the goods sold that make them unfit for their intended use, or that reduce that use so much that the customer would not have bought them, or would only have paid less, had they known of the defect.
To claim under either guarantee, the customer contacts the seller at privacy@mylands.fr, giving the order number and a description of the defect found.
9Liability
The seller cannot be held liable for a failure or defective performance of the contract due to the customer's own act, to the unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party unconnected with the supply of the services provided for in the contract, or to force majeure.
The points made in our legal notice about the non-contractual nature of on-screen colour rendering, and the scope of the application advice published on the site, apply in full to these Terms and to any order.
10Special terms for professional accounts
A professional account, opened subject to the seller's approval, may be granted a pay-on-account credit line within a limit and on a payment period specific to that account. Failure to pay by the due date suspends, without prejudice to the seller's other remedies, the ability to place further on-account orders until the account is brought up to date.
The "Right of withdrawal" and "Consumer mediation" sections of these Terms are written for a customer who is a consumer within the meaning of the French Consumer Code; a professional account buying for the purposes of its business is not automatically covered by them, without prejudice to the provisions of the French Commercial Code that continue to apply to it.
11Consumer mediation
Under article L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code, every customer who is a consumer has the right to use a consumer mediator free of charge to settle a dispute arising from these Terms amicably, after first trying to resolve it directly with our customer service team by written complaint. The competent mediator is the one named in our legal notice:
- Mediator
- [TO BE COMPLETED]
- Address
- [TO BE COMPLETED]
- Online referral
- [TO BE COMPLETED]
The European online dispute resolution platform, which many sites still link to, closed permanently on 20 July 2025; the mediator named above is the route to use.
12Personal data
Personal data collected when placing an order is processed under our privacy policy, which sets out the purposes, recipients and retention periods in full.
13Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, and where amicable resolution or mediation has failed, the French courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you retain the option of bringing proceedings before the court for the place where you live, under article R.631-3 of the French Consumer Code. Between businesses, any dispute over these Terms falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts for the seller's registered office, unless a mandatory rule of law provides otherwise.
