Let's talk colour, together

Working on an article, a feature, a video? We love that. Mylands has had colour stories to tell since 1884 - and a team in France that answers quickly, with the imagery, the facts and the people you need.

Mylands in brief

A London house, six generations, one palette

Founded in Lambeth in 1884 and still in the hands of the Myland family, Mylands is London's last paint manufactory - and Britain's oldest still run by its founding family. Every tin is made in the West Norwood works, from natural earths and minerals and crushed Carrara marble.

Royal Warrant holder to the British Crown, partner to film studios since 1928, chosen by palaces, museums and fine houses, the house is now distributed in France and across Europe by mylands.fr, from a warehouse in Occitanie.

Founded in London in 1884 and run by six generations of the Myland family, Mylands is the last paint manufactory in the British capital. A Royal Warrant holder - granted in 1985 and renewed in 2025 - the house makes richly pigmented water-based paints in its West Norwood works, from natural earths and minerals and crushed Carrara marble. Partner to film studios since 1928, and to palaces and museums, Mylands is distributed in France and across Europe by mylands.fr, from a warehouse in Occitanie.

Journalists & media

We love contributing to your articles

A colour-trends feature, a house profile, a piece on renovating a Haussmann apartment or on the paint of the palaces: we like taking part, and we do it gladly. Interviews, expert opinion, data, imagery, samples - tell us what would serve your story.

We answer every request personally. If you are on deadline, say so: we will organise ourselves to come back to you the same day.

Interviews & quotes

A conversation by phone, video call or in writing with our team in France and, depending on the subject, with the house in London. We enjoy talking colour, making and heritage - and answering the hard questions.

High-resolution imagery

Interior photography, colour cards, tins and the manufactory, product packshots - cleared for press use, with credits and exact colour names.

Samples & product for your shoots

Sample pots, colour cards, colour chips, full tins for a set or a styled scene: dispatched quickly from our warehouse in Occitanie.

Stories to tell

A few angles to get started

Mylands is not short of stories. Here are six we can document, illustrate and put a face to - and we are always keen to hear yours.

01

The paint of the palaces

The only British maker of decorative paints and polishes to hold the Royal Warrant - granted by Elizabeth II in 1985, renewed by Charles III in 2025.

02

Made in London since 1884

Six generations, one works: the capital's last paint manufactory, between tradition and today's formulas.

03

The colour of cinema

Since 1928, set decorators for film and theatre have relied on Mylands - a dedicated division that feeds the paints in our homes.

04

The Colours of London

One hundred and twenty shades named after the streets, districts and stories of London: a palette that can be told neighbourhood by neighbourhood.

05

A responsible paint

Water-based, low in VOCs, Carrara marble reclaimed from the stone industry's offcuts, walls that breathe: sustainability as seen by a house that paints monuments.

06

From London to Occitanie

How a London manufactory settles in with the French: a warehouse in the south, advice in French, fast delivery across the country.

Press enquiry

Write to the press office

A few lines will do: the subject, what you need, and your deadline if you have one.

The title, channel, site or podcast you are writing for.

We plan around it. E.g. "Thursday 12th", "end of the week".

Content creators & influence

Let's collaborate

You share interiors, renovation, DIY or simply your home, and you love colour as much as we do? Mylands likes working with creators who show paint the way it is lived: a wall that changes a room, a shade that hesitates between morning and evening, a weekend project.

We have no ready-made grid: every collaboration takes shape with you, around your world and your project. Paint for a job, colour advice, co-created content, a first look at a collection - let's talk.

Dedicated colour advice

One person to help you pick your shades for the room, the light and your style - before, during and after the project.

New shades, collections, launches: the creators we work with see them before anyone else.

A code for your audience

Through our affiliate programme, a personal discount code for the people who follow you - and a commission on every order placed thanks to you.

What we look for

More than the size of an audience: a real affinity with colour and interiors, a personal eye and well-made content. Micro-creators welcome - the best collaborations often start with accounts of a human scale.

Every collaboration is disclosed as such in your content, in line with the applicable rules - it is our policy, and it protects your audience as much as us.

Mostly keen to recommend Mylands and be rewarded for every order? The affiliate programme is built for exactly that.
