A journey of colour and collaboration

When Beata Heuman envisioned her exclusive paint collection, she imagined colours that would transcend conventional palettes, shades infused with emotion, storytelling and artistry. To bring these ideas to life, she partnered with Mylands, the esteemed British paint and wood finishes company renowned for its expertise in creating exceptional colour formulations.

A shared vision

The collaboration began with a shared vision: to craft a range of paints that could perfectly encapsulate Beata's unique aesthetic. For her, every hue needed to evoke a feeling and harmonise with her design ethos, an endeavour that required more than artistic inspiration; it needed scientific precision.

Crafting colours with science

At the heart of the process was Mylands' in-house team of colour scientists. Known for their mastery of pigment blending and formula refinement, they worked closely with Beata, analysing her ideas and translating them into tangible shades, each undergoing a meticulous process of mixing, adjusting and testing to meet her exacting standards.

The colour 'Glass' is a perfect example of how Mylands' colour scientists can translate a physical object, a glass, and how it reflects and plays with light, into a colour.

Working with Mylands' experts

Leading the collaboration was Mylands CEO Dominic Myland; under his guidance, the team provided an environment of innovation and technical excellence, the colour scientists, armed with decades of expertise, drawing on cutting-edge technology and traditional techniques to achieve unparalleled depth and richness.

Achieving perfection

Creating the precise colours Beata wanted wasn't straightforward; it involved numerous iterations, testing how shades looked under different lighting, ensuring durability and balancing aesthetics with functionality, a rigorous approach that is a hallmark of Mylands, where craftsmanship and science meet to produce premium-quality paints.
