Ordering

Everything you need to order on mylands.fr, from basket to doorstep - and what to do if something does not go to plan.

Ordering on the website

How do I place an order?

In five steps:

  1. Choose your paint. Every product page states the surfaces the finish is made for; if in doubt, our Find Your Finish guide will point you the right way.
  2. Choose your size. Our paint calculator estimates the litres you need from your room's dimensions.
  3. Add to basket, along with the recommended primer if your surface is bare or uneven.
  4. Go to checkout: your details, your delivery method, your payment method.
  5. Confirm. You receive a confirmation email straight away, then a second one with tracking as soon as we dispatch.
How accurate are the colours shown on your website?

We take great care over how our colours are reproduced, but no screen can convey the depth of a heavily pigmented paint. What you see varies with your screen calibration, the aspect of your room and the natural light falling into it, and with the finish you apply.

Always order a sample before you order tins. Our 100 ml sample pots cover roughly 1.5 m² - more than enough to paint several patches and watch the colour across the day. An unopened tin can be returned within 30 days, but a tin that has been started cannot be taken back: a sample is still your best insurance.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Contact us as soon as you can through the contact form, quoting your order number. As long as the order has not gone into production we can usually amend or cancel it, and add an item to it.

Once the paint has been tinted, though, it has been made for you and can no longer be cancelled. Orders placed before 2.30pm Monday to Friday leave the same day, so please write straight away.

Where do I enter my discount code or gift card?

In the basket, click 'Add a discount code or gift card', or enter it at the Payment step in the 'Discount code or gift card' field. On mobile this field sits inside the order summary - just expand it.

The reduction applies to the summary immediately. Some codes cannot be combined with each other; the site will tell you if that is the case.

Do I need an account to order?

No - guest checkout is offered at the first step of the checkout. An account does let you track your orders, keep your addresses to hand, save and share baskets, and build wishlists per project.

You can also create your account during checkout without leaving the flow: simply choose a password at the 'Your details' step.

I have forgotten my password - how do I reset it?

On the login page, click 'Forgot your password?', enter the email address on your account and submit. You will receive a reset link valid for a few hours. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder before writing to us.

My payment will not go through - what should I do?

Try another payment method first (card, PayPal, Google Pay), or another browser - an ad blocker or security extension sometimes stops the secure payment page from opening. If the problem persists, write to us via the contact form describing the step that fails and the message you see; we can complete the order with you.

Payment & security

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit and debit cards (CB, Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Google Pay and Klarna, as well as our gift cards and discount codes. Approved trade accounts can also pay on account, to agreed terms.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. Payment is handled by Mollie, a licensed, PCI-DSS certified payment provider: you complete the payment on its secure page, and your card details never pass through or rest on our servers. If you choose to save a card for next time, only an encrypted token is kept - never the full number.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, with Klarna: select it at the Payment step to spread your order over three interest-free instalments. Eligibility is decided by Klarna, which confirms the terms before you commit.

Are prices shown including VAT?

Yes, every price on the site is shown inclusive of VAT, in euros. Trade account holders can switch the display to ex-VAT from the site header; the amount actually charged remains the VAT-inclusive total.

Delivery & tracking

How long does delivery take?

Any order placed before 2.30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) is dispatched the same day from our warehouse near Toulouse; after that it leaves the next working day.

  • Colissimo - to your door: around 2 working days in mainland France.
  • Colissimo pick-up points and other parcel shops: around 3 working days.
  • Colour cards on their own: sent as tracked letter post, around 3 working days.

Full details, carrier by carrier, are on the Delivery & Returns page.

How much does delivery cost?

The cost depends on the method you choose and your basket value; it is shown at the Delivery step, before any payment. A pick-up point is generally cheaper than delivery to your door.

Delivery becomes free above a certain order value - your basket tells you how much is left to reach it. Colour cards ordered on their own are sent free of charge.

Do you deliver to pick-up points?

Yes. At the Delivery step, choose 'Pick-up point': a map opens and lets you select the most convenient point near your home or your site. Your chosen point is repeated on your order confirmation.

Do you deliver outside France?

No, we only deliver to addresses in mainland France.

How can I track my order?

As soon as we dispatch, you receive an email with the carrier's tracking link. If you have an account, the status and tracking of every order are also in My account.

Check your spam folder if the email is slow to arrive; otherwise write to us with your order number.

An item is missing from my parcel - what should I do?

Larger orders sometimes travel in several parcels arriving a day or two apart, so check your dispatch email first: it lists what is in each one. If an item is still missing, write to us via the contact form with your order number and, if you can, a photo of what arrived. We will put it right at no cost to you.

My order arrived damaged - what should I do?

Note your reservations with the carrier on delivery if the damage is visible, then photograph the outer box, the packaging and the damaged tins before unpacking any further. Send those photos with your order number through the contact form and we will replace or refund the affected items.

Returns & refunds

What is your returns policy?

Ordered too much paint, chosen the wrong finish or changed your mind on the colour? You have 30 days from receipt of your order to send back, for a refund, any item that is unused and in its original packaging: colour cards, tools, accessories, wood care products and unopened tins of paint.

What about tinted paint? Every tin is mixed to the colour and finish you chose, at the moment you ordered it — the law (article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code) excludes it in principle from the 14-day right of withdrawal. Our 'Easy returns' promise goes further: an unopened tin is taken back and refunded within 30 days, like any other item. Only a tin that has been opened or started cannot be taken back, which is why a sample pot first is worth it.

None of this takes anything away from your statutory rights: a faulty, misdescribed or transit-damaged product is taken back, replaced or refunded.

How do I return something?

Before sending anything back, tell us from your account: in My account › My orders, open the order and click « Request a return ». Choose the items and quantities and give a reason: we will reply in your account with the return address and how to proceed.

Ordered without an account? Write to us through the contact form with your order number and the items concerned.

You have 30 days from receipt to send the items back, unused and in their original packaging. Return postage is yours to cover when you change your mind; it is ours when the item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. Keep your proof of postage until the refund lands.

When will I get my refund?

We issue the refund once the return has arrived and been checked, to the payment method used for the order. Allow a few further working days for your bank to show it on your statement.

What if the product I received is faulty?

Write to us with your order number, a photo of the product and, if possible, one of the label - it carries the batch number. That lets us trace the production run and offer a replacement or refund quickly.

Getting in touch

How do I contact customer service?

Through the site's contact form: it is the quickest route and takes your message straight to the French team. Quote your order number if your question is about a shipment in progress.

What are your opening hours?

Our team handles messages Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. A message sent at the weekend is answered on Monday.

Can I come and see the products in person?

We do not have a showroom open to the public in France: our Occitanie premises are a logistics warehouse. To judge a colour, the best substitute is the colour card - sent free of charge - together with 100 ml sample pots you apply at home, in your own light.

Are your products sold in shops?

Our French stockist network is growing. If you are looking for a shop near you, or would like to stock Mylands yourself, write to us via the contact form or apply for a trade account on the stockist page.

Can't find your answer?

Write to us: our French team replies Monday to Friday. Do quote your order number if your question concerns a shipment.
