Help & FAQs
Trade
From opening an account to specifying on site: what the Mylands trade programme offers decorators, architects, designers, fit-out contractors and stockists.
Opening a trade account
Fill in the form in the trade area. Every application is reviewed by hand and you receive a decision within two working days. Once your account is approved, your pricing applies automatically across the whole site - no codes to remember.
Painting contractors and decorators, architects and interior architects, designers and specifiers, fit-out and general contractors, developers, stockists and distributors, and the hospitality sector. If your activity is not on that list, describe it in the form: we look at every application.
Your company details, your sector and its size. Your SIRET number and intra-community VAT number are optional but speed the review up considerably - and they are required for zero-rated invoicing on intra-community deliveries.
No, there is no minimum for trade accounts - order a single sample pot or thirty litres.
Pricing & terms
Every approved business is attached to a price list matched to its volume, applied automatically across the whole range - paints, wood finishes, sample pots and colour tools included. Your pricing shows everywhere on the site, in the basket and on every invoice.
Yes. Approved accounts can be enabled for payment on account: you order up to an agreed credit limit and settle on standard terms, typically 30 days. A job no longer waits on a card authorisation.
From your trade dashboard, generate a unique discount code and pass it to your client. They get a reduction on their paint; you earn commission on the goods value of each of their qualifying orders. Active codes, attached orders and commission earned are all tracked live in your account.
That is entirely your call. On every referral code, and on every order you place for a client, a slider lets you pass on anywhere from 0 to 100% of your price-list discount, in 5% steps - the rest is credited to you as commission.
For example: your list gives 20% on paint and you pass on half of it. Your client pays 10% less than the public price, and the remaining 10% comes to you. Your client never sees that split: their payment page shows only the price they pay. Codes, attached orders and commission earned are all tracked live in your account.
Yes. Build the order at your trade prices - from the site, or from the order form in your account, which you can save as a draft and pick up later - then choose 'Send a payment link' at the payment step. If you don't have their billing details or the delivery address yet, leave those for them to fill in.
We email the link to your client, or you copy it and pass it on yourself; they pay online, securely. The order keeps your price-list pricing: you never front the money and the goods never pass through your books, while the share you kept is credited to you as commission as soon as they pay.
Yes: once signed in to a trade account, an 'ex VAT / inc VAT' switch appears in the site header. It only changes the display - the amount charged remains the VAT-inclusive total.
Write to us through the contact form, quoting your trade account and what you need: our team will place the order for you, Monday to Friday. For regular repeat orders, the 'saved baskets' feature in your account will save you time.
On site
Yes. Enter a delivery address different from your billing address at the Delivery step - the 'Deliver to another address' option exists for exactly this. For consolidated deliveries or drops timed to your programme, write to us in advance.
Yes: offices, hotels, restaurants, retail. Our finishes are washable, rub-resistant and highly consistent from batch to batch - which matters when a project runs over several months, or when a touch-up happens a year later.
Yes. Our paints and finishes go on by spray as well as roller and brush, airless or conventional, following your equipment manufacturer's settings. Always test your settings on an offcut before committing to the finished surface.
Yes - it is their original trade. Our hard wax oils, lacquers and varnishes are formulated for floors, doors and fitted joinery, with reinforced versions for public buildings.
